The Cast

In order of appearance

  • Christine Chatelain

    Shirley Gordon

Christine originally tried acting as a hobby in college and – oops! – fell in love with it. She became a full-time actor after landing roles in 40 Days and 40 Nights, White Coats, and Final Destination. Her credits are long and include Fringe, Supernatural, Batwoman, Riverdale, and The Collector – for which she was nominated for a Leo Award – as well as the title role in the hit SyFy mini-series Reise. When writer and co-director Mary-Jo asked her long-time friend if she would play the role inspired by her relationship with her own mother, Christine didn’t hesitate. Mary-Jo is pretty sure she owes her big.

  • Paige Phung

    Grace Gordon

Wow! Look out, world! Paige is a multi-talented force of nature who has been performing for more than half of her life. And she’s only 7. (See? Lookout, world!) While she is formally trained in ballet, lyrical, and jazz, Never Broken marks her film debut. And, not surprisingly, she loved every second of it!

(Yes, Paige's bio is a bit shorter than the rest of our cast's. 'Cause she's in Grade Two! Come back in 20-years and just see what this spitfire has done with her big, beautiful life!)

  • Mark Acheson

    Dandy Andy

One of the most unforgettable scenes in the hit Holiday favourite Elf takes place in the mailroom, when Buddy the Elf gets his first taste of booze with the Mailroom Guy, played by none other than this dude. For the last four decades, Mark has been delighting audiences with roles that span classics like MacGyver, G.I. Joe, The X-Files, and The Chris Isaak Show, and in more recent years, Motive, Supernatural, and Fargo. In addition to Never Broken, the last year saw him appear in Jude Law's Peter Pan and Wendy.

  • Loretta Walsh

    Hope

Born in Australia, Loretta is a multi-award-nominated actor and 20-year performing veteran. She has appeared in over 30 projects on screen and is most well known for her 10 seasons on the Hallmark hit series When Calls the Heart. A classically trained actor, Loretta is founder of the theatre company Kindred Theatre and has starred in over 30 plays including: Dinner with Friends, Lobby Hero, Sex with Strangers, THIS, Either We Talk or We Don't Talk, White Hot, Othello and Hamlet. (Oh! Writer and co-director Mary-Jo wants her pal Loretta to know that this is the first of many projects she will be getting roped into.)

  • Alistair Abell

    Man Diner

Originally from the Prairies, today Alistair is based in Vancouver. A long-time actor, his credits include cult favourites like Freddy vs. Jason as well as Smallville, Stargate SG-1, Supernatural, Arrow, and The Good Doctor. He is the voice of several notable characters in the world of animé, most identifiably Colin MacLeod in Highlander: The Search for Vengeance and Lord Djibril in Gundham Seed Destiny. He's also leant his vocals to video games like Electronic Arts' SSX3 and SSX On Tour. Despite portraying an arguably slimy character in Never Broken, he’s pretty much as good a guy as they get.

  • Teryl Rothery

    Terry Richards

Teryl can currently be seen in Amazon’s Upload, and Netflix’s Virgin River. But fans also know and love her for her portrayal of Dr. Janet Fraiser on Showtime’s Stargate: SG-1, and for her starring role opposite Andie MacDowell in the Hallmark Channel Original Series Cedar Cove. She is a multi-award-nominated performer whose credits also include Supernatural, The Killing, The X-Files, and Bates Motel. Despite all the impressive roles, Never Broken writer and co-director Mary-Jo first fell in love with Teryl when she spotted her in Christopher Guest’s Best in Show.
